In 2018 I joined Remote Year, living and working in a different country every month alongside a group of fifty. Croatia was the first stop, based in Split. A month somewhere is long enough that the postcards run out in the first week, which is when the useful photographs start. I shot the coastline and the old towns, but what held up were the ordinary hours in between, and fifty strangers slowly turning into a group.
