Enhancing Sales Pitches with Dynamic, Branded Sales Comps

Overview

Sitting next to the sales team at Auction Mobility, I often listened to their pitches and wondered how I could help them showcase our platform more effectively. I had previously created static sales comps for our three main screens (Auctions, Catalog, and Lot Review) on web and mobile, but they were time-consuming to update and lacked customization.

While experimenting with Figma out of curiosity, I recreated our key screens and realized I could use dynamic branding and real auction content to make sales comps instantly relatable. This allowed reps to present a customized version of our product, making pitches more engaging and personal. The initiative boosted sales and laid the foundation for our Auction Mobility Design System.

Hypothesis

Our assumption was that potential customers would be more engaged and inclined to convert if they saw our platform fully branded with their colors, logos, and current auction content. We believed it would create an emotional connection and increase trust in our solution.

Solution
  • Converted Key Screens to Figma: I migrated our three main screens (Auctions, Catalog, and Lot Review) to Figma, optimizing them for both web and mobile.

  • Dynamic Branding & Real Data: I implemented dynamic colors and logos, allowing the sales team to instantly tailor the UI to match each client’s branding.

  • Quick Customization: By simply updating colors and content, sales reps could present a personalized version of our product in minutes.

  • Empowering Sales with Figma: I trained several sales reps to use Figma themselves, enabling them to generate their own sales comps without needing design support. This reduced turnaround time and increased efficiency.

  • Early Design System Foundations: To maintain consistency and efficiency, I began systematizing our components—an effort that would later evolve into Auction Mobility’s first design system.
